Learn and practice the stitches used in the July 2024 edition of Crochet Foundry by crocheting this light and airy shawl. The Summer Resort Shawl features many lace and mesh stitches, some pineapple stitches, and even a bit of Tunisian crochet. With charts, photos, and video tutorials to enhance the written pattern, you can have your new shawl ready to wear in a few evenings of stitching.

Difficulty

Intermediate – While this shawl contains some post stitches, Tunisian crochet, and working into the sides of stitches, it is also full of charts and video tutorials to guide you every step along the way. You may not feel like you are up for an intermediate pattern, but we have faith in you and we are here for you every step of the way!

Section 8: Queen Jellyfish Earrings By Ila Quinn Trakel

Tassel Top

Rnd 1 (rs): Ch 3, [puff st, ch 2] 5 times in first ch made, sl st to top of first puff st. (5 sts)

Rnd 2: Ch 1 (does not count as as st here or throughout), 2 sc in each ch-2 around, sl st to top of first sc. (10 sts)

Rnd 3: Ch 1 (does not count as as st here or throughout), sc in each sc around, sl st to top of first sc.

Fasten off.

Tassel

  • Wrap yarn around a 6-8″ template (cell phone works great) 50 times.
  • Cut the bundle so there are 50 pieces.
  • Tie a 10″ piece of yarn around the center of the bundle.
  • Thread the tie ends into a yarn needle.
  • Use the needle to thread the tie ends through the top center of the Tassel Top.
  • Use the tie ends to tie the Tassel to the ch-2 at the point of Section 7.
  • Weave in all ends.
