Aimee (she/her): [email protected]

Work: None online.

Testing Experience: Every piece I begin is a test until it is completed with success! lol No.

History & Skills: I learned to crochet when I was 12-13 and am a 53yr widowed grandma now. I’ve made just about everything except clothing. I only wish that I did have photos of the countless blankets , throws, bags, little puzzle toys and animals that I’ve made for my grandkids. I do have a WIP at the moment, a cape for this winter coming. my first attempt at a wearable piece. I am a disabled brain cancer survivor and this is really how I spend my time now, of course with my maine coon kitty, Bo Jangles.

Alyssa (she/her): [email protected]

Work: https://www.ravelry.com/projects/Alyssa2021

Testing Experience: Helen Wilkinson [email protected]
Kristen Caldwell [email protected]

History & Skills: I learned to crochet in 2021 because I needed a portable craft for a trip that I knew I wouldn’t be driving (sewing isn’t). I love to try out a new stitch/a new challenge; I tend to make a pretty wide variety of items but do prefer “useful” things. I did quite a bit of pattern testing as a seamstress so given the opportunity to pattern test crochet patterns I jump at the chance. I’ve tested crochet patterns for a few designers so far.

Andie (she/her): [email protected]

Work: I am one half of Wild Fern Fiber Arts (the other half is my sister). https://www.instagram.com/wildfernfiberarts

Testing Experience: New to this!

History & Skills: I’ve been crocheting for a few years now. I first learned for a blanket project through my work. We make blankets for older youth in child welfare. Since then, my knowledge has grown. I have made pullover sweaters and cardigan, home decor items like baskets, kitchen towel rings, and face scrubbies, and cold weather accessories like cowls and fingerless gloves. The majority of the above I made from patterns, a handful of them from scratch.

Kristen of HooksBooksWanderlust – [email protected]
Regina of Regina P Designs –

History & Skills: I taught myself to crochet over 3 years ago using online classes from various designers/instructors such as Salena Baca at ACA and others on Creativebug. I have made everything from pot holders to cardigans and also Amigurumi. I am still learning and honing my skills all the time. I love to learn new stitches and new ways to use those stitches. I feel that I am pretty good at pattern reading and catching mistakes (typos, etc..) or at least I have been told that I am, lol. I used to do graphic design and publications when I was still working and the editing habits have stuck with me.
I have tested for many designers: Hooks, Books & Wanderlust, Made by Gootie, Salena Baca, Regina P Designs, Lillia Seren,

Testing Experience: I have never test crocheted before.

Caroline (she/her): [email protected]

Work: https://www.ravelry.com/people/CarolineSunshine

Testing Experience: None

History & Skills: I started crocheting in November of 2022 and have done it nearly every day since. I enjoy making garments, and my favorite method of crochet is overlay mosaic. I am also good at Tunisian crochet, and am always challenging myself to learn new skills or stitches. If I don’t know how to do something, I figure it out!

Cass (they/him): [email protected]

Work: https://www.instagram.com/hookinghijinks/

Testing Experience: Yes. I have tested for NinePointFive and Journey Chanel Designs

History & Skills: I have been crocheting for almost 27 years and I am great at wearables and accessories. I can do some no-sew amigurumi patterns, but that is not my strong suit. I can do pretty much anything else. I am also a designer myself so I am aware of what goes into needing to be tested and the math involved in figuring out yardage. I also have a heavy focus on accessibility in pattern writing.

Fiona (she/her): [email protected]

Work: On ravelry I’m Fionalit On Instagram I’m littledragonfiona

Testing Experience: It’s been a while since I tested for anyone, possibly around 18 months to 2 years.

History & Skills: I started crochet when my kids were small and began pattern testing for designers during lockdown. I enjoy a challenge and have tried a number of different techniques over the years. I have found that if a pattern is difficult to understand I can make constructive suggestions on how to word things differently to make it easier to understand. I don’t believe that patterns should be labelled as easy/beginner or advanced etc, because if a pattern is well written and stitches are explained, ANYONE can make just about anything.

Kelsey (they/them): [email protected]

Work: IG: common.loon.crafts
Ravelry: kgolk007 (not used much)

Testing Experience: I have once before; you can see the test and designer info on my IG

History & Skills: I’ve been crocheting for a few years on and off, and have become more serious about it in the last 2 years! I love being able to work through tricky bits of pattern and learn new skills along the way. Fingering weight yarn is something I really enjoy working with – not everyone has the patience for the tiny weights, but I really like the fabric and intricacy it can create! I’m always down for a good challenge, but also appreciate some good, easy-to-memorize patterns for crocheting “in the zone.” I strive to be meticulous in my work and am a stickler for following directions, so I tend to follow patterns as written.

Permission to contact for non-Crochet Foundry testing: Yes

Liz (they/she): [email protected]

Work: https://www.etsy.com/shop/TheWickedStitchersNH

Testing Experience: Yes, but they’ve just been for friends and have not been published yet.

History & Skills: I have been crocheting now for 7 years. I love crocheting everything from sweaters to vests to scarves to blankets and amigurumi. I have freehanded lots of projects, followed patterns to the letter including gauge and made some of my own simple patterns. I also love colorwork and have made several giant graphgans. I have done advanced and expert level crochet patterns and have yet to find a crochet stitch I can’t do. But if there’s knitting involved, it’s probably not a good idea for me to try it because I’m as basic as basic can be there.

Lydia (she/her): [email protected]

History & Skills: I’ve been crocheting since I was sixteen and have hit the point where I’ve crocheted longer than 16 years. I have lots of varied experience and have tested through ravelry, Yarnpond, crochet and instagram. I have tested clothing, accessories, amigurumi and many other items. I have a public instagram and facebook @lessthan3crochet. I have worked with some testers that allow sneak peaks and others that items have to stay hidden until the pattern is published. I really enjoy testing and being part of the process, and of course seeing all the variations that others do with color and yarn type.

Testing Experience: Yes, MJs off the Hook

I live in the US so yarns available there are best for me to test with and I can do pretty much any stitch. I enjoy non – clothes best but I’ve enjoyed clothes that are not super fitted in the past like ponchos, ponchos with sleeves, dresses or tops that are made in one piece that just needs seaming. I have the tools to do blocking as well.

Mila (she/her): [email protected]

Work: https://www.ravelry.com/people/Silverdragon98

Testing Experience: No, this would be my first time

History & Skills: I’ve been crocheting for 4 years. I’m self-taught and therefore delusional enough that I believe I can do anything with enough time to figure things out. I particularly enjoy working in the round. I’d describe myself as an intermediate crocheter, I can do all basic sts with ease, can read written patterns of all difficulties and charts of easy and medium. I haven’t tried a difficult chart yet. I’m plus size so if you need to test the upper ranges of garment sizes I’m your girl.

Testing Experience: Yes. I’ve tested for Crochet Highway, Eat Wander Crochet, Sweet Crochet Dreams, I Love Tinderbox, Crafty Crocheter, etc.

History & Skills: I have tested quite a bit in the last few years, but have slowed down this past year as I was taking too much on (multiple projects at once). I am ready to test again, but one at a time. I would say I am proficient in all crochet skills but Tunisian. I have not tried that yet.

Testing Experience: Yes, lots of top designers, such as Sandra @nomadcrochet, Anastasia @journeychanelcrochetdesigns, Ana-Maria @crochethighway, @ilovetinderbox, Stephanie Erin, Maria @lolacrochet and many others.

History & Skills: I have been crocheting for 40+ years, however more regularly and seriously the last 10 years. I have 12 designs of my own. I have advanced skills, pretty quick, and reads thoroughly through the pattern. I believe gauge swatching is the most important part of a design and will keep trying to I get a match (usually changing hooks and maybe also yarn). I truly enjoy the challenging parts, either stitches or construction. My favorite things to make are garments. However also enjoy shawls, and blankets.
